Write Away Inc N.C.

Public Relations Association of Western North Carolina recently recognized Write Away, Inc. as winner of its ‘Online Marketing-Social Media’ category

Write Away Inc N.C.ASHEVILLE, N.C. /Advertising Industry Newswire/ — While many may argue that print is a dying breed, the staff at Write Away, Inc. begs to differ; you just need to work all the angles. And, that’s just what they did. Write Away, Inc., the editors for Action Pursuit Games Magazine, the world’s leading magazine for paintball and airsoft enthusiasts, published by Beckett Media, was tasked with the challenge to help improve subscription numbers and to increase reader involvement.

So, they jumped into action. They polled readers and learned what they wanted – a more interactive Web site, more training videos and a FaceBook presence where fans could interact and post event-related information and more.

So, after four months of syndicating paintball videos on YouTube, updating Facebook postings and posting fitness training videos on the magazine’s Web site, the excitement generated has slowly led to an increase in newsstand sales and subscriptions. The efficiency numbers are slowly, but surely on the rise.

As a result, the Public Relations Association of Western North Carolina (PRAWNC) recently recognized Write Away, Inc. as the winners of its, “Online Marketing-Social Media” category at a recent award ceremony – Best of The Mountains – an annual awards program that recognizes excellence in public relations and marketing communications in Western North Carolina.

One judge commented, “It appears that research was key in adjusting to the use of more video, and with a minuscule budget, the YouTube hits and fan numbers aren’t shabby.”

Another judge said, “Well done Action Pursuit Games (now duck, there’s a paintball headed your way!)”

MDS Advertising ‘Zombie’ Campaign Nets Silver Davey Award

AUSTIN, Texas /Advertising Industry Newswire/ — In tough economic times, advertising dollars are held more tightly than gold. So it’s newsworthy when a company not only invests, but takes risks, to promote its business. Now MDS Advertising, an Austin ad agency, is winning the confidence of ROI-conscious companies with breakthrough creative that’s returning more than its weight in results-it already earned an industry award.

“MDS Advertising stands out from the rest, right from the start,” says David Hubbard, the agency’s executive vice president and creative director. “We wrap the campaign in a concept, first,” says Hubbard.

MDS Advertising recently tested its approach on a medical-billing services client.

Revenue Cycle Inc (, together with its subsidiary RC Billing, provide products and services to help radiation and oncology professionals understand changing federal regulations, and implement the latest medical billing rules and best practices.

RC Billing President Sally Eggleston explains the business challenge, noting, “Too often healthcare providers miss opportunities to bill for services because they don’t fully understand the rules. Or they’ve lost revenue because they weren’t in compliance with a regulation.”

“That’s why it was so important for us to get the word out… before and during the conference,” Eggleston adds.

Hubbard and the MDS team presented a daring concept, using dramatic poster artwork from the classic zombie film Night of the Living Dead as the basis for its creative campaign.

Ron DiGiaimo, president and chief executive officer of Revenue Cycle Inc recalls, “I was skeptical at first but MDS encouraged us to step outside our comfort zone.”

Hubbard explains, “We chose classic scary imagery to capture the underlying anxiety that billing-services providers feel about annual coding regulations that govern radiation and oncology billing practices … then used it in a fun way. It’s unexpected.”

Also unexpected was an advertising industry accolade. MDS Advertising won a 2009 International Academy of the Visual Arts (IAVA) Davey Award for its creative advertising work on the Revenue Cycle Inc/RC Billing campaign. The award recognizes the campaign’s “Save Yourself from the Beast” campaign which launched prior to the 33rd American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology (ASTRO) conference.

Revenue Cycle Inc and RC Billing recently exhibited and presented seminars at the ASTRO conference, the 26th Annual Meeting of the Society for Radiation Oncology Administrators (SROA), and the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) 2009 conference.

About the award-winning campaign, RC Billing’s Eggleston observes, “It was really fresh and exciting; We loved it. But more importantly, attendees loved it. They’d come up to our exhibit booths talking about it.”

Revenue Cycle Inc experienced high-volume traffic at its ASTRO, SROA, and ASRT exhibit booths, reported increased workshop attendance, and received positive feedback from conference attendees, as well as surprising praise from the conference organizer.

DiGiaimo credits the MDS approach with the campaign’s success. “Now I’m thankful to my team that we moved forward [with the campaign],” DiGiaimo says.

The Silver Davey Award win adds to MDS Advertising’s impressive mantle of industry accolades spanning three ADDY awards, nine Hermes Creative awards, eight Summit Creative awards, ten Telly Awards, and now six Silver Davey awards.

About MDS Advertising:

MDS Advertising is an award winning, full service agency that works closely with each client to create imaginative, breakthrough, and sustainable advertising solutions. Need inspiration? MDS energized GreanGrid Solar’s plan to empower homeowners with solar energy. Now Austinites-and one day people nationwide-can shout “Go green!” from their sun-soaking rooftops.

MDS brought eTrueBenefits to life online as an urgent remedy to rising healthcare and prescription costs. Next they’ll be pumping fresh oxygen into the current Web site for Foundation Strategies Inc, the eTrueBenefits parent company, which provides mainstay employee benefits services. Finding an innovative weight-loss product in a $30 billion dollar market has been an obstacle that many manufacturers have not been able to overcome. Market Research: Long Term Outlook Bright for Worldwide Telecom Industry Despite Current Economic Turmoil

BOONTON, N.J. — Despite the unsteady state of the global financial markets, the worldwide telecommunications industry is expected to continue expanding over the next five years as continuing growth of wireless services in emerging markets offsets the spending slowdown in the advanced economies, says a new market analysis report from The INSIGHT Research Corporation. According to the new industry market study, overall telecommunications services revenues are expected to grow at a compounded rate of nearly 10.3 percent over the next few years, reaching $2.7 trillion by 2013.

insight research“The 2009 Telecommunications Industry Review: An Anthology of Market Facts and Forecasts” notes that wireless makes the strongest showing while wireline follows a distant second. Nearly all of the growth in both sectors is expected to occur in broadband services, with wireless broadband service revenues expected to grow at a compounded rate of more than 70 percent over the forecast period, while wireline broadband services grow at under 10 percent over the same forecast horizon.

“The 2009 Telecommunications Industry Review: An Anthology of Market Facts and Forecasts” states that even amidst so much economic uncertainty the fact remains that telecommunications is a key input factor in economic growth. Telecommunications is a facilitator of socio-economic advancement and is a critical utility for economic development, much like water and energy. It is on the basis of telecommunications as a lynchpin in the eventual economic recovery that INSIGHT Research projects continued carrier revenue growth.

“The worldwide economy is in turmoil, there is no doubt about that, but over the long haul we expect the telecommunications industry to continue growing,” says INSIGHT president Robert Rosenberg. “Telecom is as necessary to development as roads and bridges, so we expect it to fare much better than other economic segments that may take longer to return to normalcy,” Rosenberg concluded.

An excerpt, table of contents, and ordering information for this market research study of the global telecommunications industry are available online at: .

LTCFP Jonas Roeser

LTC Financial Partners Wins 4 Marketing Excellence Awards

KIRKLAND, Wash. — LTC Financial Partners (LTCFP) was honored for marketing excellence at the 2008 conference of the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance, held in Atlanta, Georgia. Taking home four awards, the agency shared the limelight with leading insurance carriers that were also honored. The awards follow a spectacular growth in LTCFP’s size and national impact.

“The awards weren’t just for nice marketing materials or clever programs,” says Cameron Truesdell, LTCFP’s CEO. “They reflect cutting-edge efforts by our marketing department, efforts that have helped us grow link crazy.” Since 2004, LTCFP has increased in size from 85 agents to over 440.

LTCFP Jonas Roeser The person behind LTCFP’s marketing thrust is Jonas Roeser, Senior Vice President of Marketing & Operations. The four awards, and the strategies they reflect, are –

1. Agent Consumer Websites: “Gold Level Website/Public Relations Service.”

Strategy reflected: Increase public exposure through a “web of websites,” each linked to national and local public relations programs. This has not only stimulated public attention, but also attracted new agents who want their own personalized websites with proprietary fulfillment marketing materials hosted by LTCFP.

2. Direct Mail: “Florida Partnership Piece.”

Strategy reflected: Using few words and factual language, alert the public to the financial carrots, offered by Florida and other states, for protecting one’s estate and lifestyle through long term care insurance.

3. Consumer Brochure: “Dignity for Life.”

Strategy reflected: Instead of a sales pitch, just give people the facts. The “brochure” is in fact a brief self-cover book about long term care insurance — in few words plus charts and pictures for quick, easy understanding. Distributed free by LTCFP, the book is also available on for $8.95.

4. Sales Agent Contest: “Rocktober.”

Strategy Reflected: Making appointments and placing policies needn’t be work. It can be fun. LTCFP created a themed 5-week sales contest for friendly completion amongst fellow agents. The contest took a Rock ‘N’ Roll theme and started in the month of October, hence the name Rocktober. “In Rocktober, our agents really rocked with friendly competition,” says Roeser. The result, at the end of the five weeks, was an increase in submitted premium of 50% over the previous month. “The completion really helps build team spirit,” says Roeser.

In combination, “this kind of marketing support makes LTCFP the kind of agency the best agents want to team up with,” says Roeser. “That’s why so many have asked to join us.”

Links to local sites in the “web of websites,” digital copies of the “Dignity for Life” book, facts about joining LTCFP, and other information may be accessed at LTCFP’s main site: .

Travel Industry Advertising Site ResortsandLodges Wins WMA WebAward

ST. PAUL, Minn. — Resorts and Lodges (, a leading niche portal Web site providing advertising for the hospitality and travel industry, has received a WebAward for excellence in Web site design and development from the Web Marketing Association (WMA). The company was chosen from among 2,400 entries from more than 40 countries during the WMA’s annual WebAward competition.

The company’s redesigned site was awarded the “Standard of Excellence” in the competition’s Hotel/Lodging/Travel category. The redesign, launched in late 2006, showcases the diverse features and benefits of approximately 10,000 resort and lodge properties worldwide. Focusing on an enhanced user experience and including the development of completely new front- and back-end functionality, the site update maximizes conversions and provides sophisticated tracking for the company’s leisure advertising clientele.

“We are extremely proud to have our design and development work recognized internationally,” said Ryan Bailey, Vice President of ResortsandLodges. “Our goal was to establish as a premiere vacation portal, built on best practices for conversion. We felt the best way to do that was by taking the traveler through a branded ‘journey’ presented through rich media, to enhance and even transform their affinity with our advertisers.”

The new design features an interactive map which allows online customers to quickly and easily explore vacation destinations and lodging. In addition, it highlights each resort or lodge property through a mix of unique content developed through individual client interviews, colorful photography, and interactive video. A convenient search tool allows visitors to filter properties by resort type, accommodation type, activity type, amenity type and price range.

In addition to an enhanced traveler experience, the Web site redesign also included the development of sophisticated tracking for the company’s resort and lodge advertising clientele. Advertisers can now view performance statistics for click-through rates; page impressions, email inquiries and phone activity. The phone calls appear as visual data and are recorded as voice data, making it simple for a client to assess the frequency of conversions over the phone. Much of this development has never been implemented on any other travel-related Web site.

“More than ever before, Resorts and Lodges allows advertisers to truly track the performance of their campaigns,” said Bailey. “Through sophisticated data analytics, they can continually optimize their campaigns and manage the creative approach for extraordinary results.”
